Where is Nakina??

As you look at the map, you can see that Nakina is at the end of the road as you head north and east from Thunderbay.  If you are coming from lower Ontario, you will be heading north and west.  But it makes no difference, because you still have arrived at a remote village that will be the beginning of many adventures.

If you are a fisherman, then you are at the boundary of some of the best fishing you will ever experience.

If you are a hunter, you will soon realize that the area around Nakina is a wilderness paradise.  It takes a special place for Moose and Black Bear to roam free without worrying about man's interference.  One trip to the Nakina area and you will know why the hunting is so good.

If you think you want to take a fly in adventure,

7 Lakes Wilderness Camps uses Nakina Air Service to get you to the outpost camps.

The trip on the float plane is an adventure in itself and to help explain why, take a look at the following.
If you have never flown on a float plane or have never heard of De Havilland or Otter, you are in for a real treat and history lesson.

Take a look at this.  It is one of a pair of converted De Havilland Otters that will be flying you to your lake of choice.  Their fly-in service is as good as it gets.  Its worth going just for the flight.  Nakina Air Service is their name.

If you want to be a part of that happy group flying out of Nakina, and who wouldn't, give us a call or email and we will make it happen.

Map of the Nakina and our Lakes

You can see by looking at the map that we cover near and far.  Our fly in fishing lakes are Ara, Dusey, and Marshall.  Our fly in hunting lakes are Dusey, Miska, and Teabeau.  Miska is being rebuilt for this next falls hunt and Teabeau is on the list for 2011.   Our Base camp is located on Lower Twin Lake about 7 miles (10k) east of Nakina.  There we have fishing and hunting.  Hanover is set up for hunting.

The dark red line below Nakina is highway 584.  That's the one going to Geraldton.  The other lighter red lines are logging roads.  This map is about 140 miles East-West  and 100 miles North-South.

Click here more information about FISHING or HUNTING.
